Default A little help for updating my TomTom One

Other than my 2720 and the MMI 2G nav in my Audi, my wife has a TomTom one v4 with just the Italy maps. Since the GPS is not new I think that I've to update the maps.

I've downloaded the latest Italy maps, or so I think, Italia_855_2938 but now I would like to know the steps to perform a succesful update of the TT maps in the units.

I've tried to read some tutorials but get lost in a minute...

Can someone help? I can access a Mac (OS X 10.6) and a PC with Windows 7 Pro 32.

Thanks Catymag, before posting the above message I've read that FAQ but really don't understood fully. What I really would need is a step by step guide like "download that map here, run that software here, put these files here" and so on. I've yet downloaded what appear to be an updated map but now I really don't know what to do and I don't think that simply copying the files over the SD will do the job...

Download Automatic navcore installer here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Navcore 8.544.1838 - 32MB
    or
    SE Navcore v9.101.516023.2 - ONE

download Italy 860.3101 here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    1. intstall navcore your sd-card (read instruction in page)
    2. copy map directory to sd-card
    3. start device (you get error "no maps")
    4. plug sd-card to computer and run autoactivate in root directory
    5. start your device again

Thanks m8. I've to buy a bigger SD card since mine is 256Mb and there's no space for the new maps. Since I've to buy a new card I've also another question. My TT One came with only Italy installed. If I buy a bigger card (say 2Gb or 4Gb) can I download and install the whole Europe or my TT doesn't support it?

    Thanks again...

Yes. You can use all maps what you want, I recommend 4GB Card, after that you must update new boorloader (it is easy), old boot loaders cant read 2gb-> cards

plug your tomtom to computer and check your bootloader version. here is tutorial howto [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Please send your current configuration here all 7 lines

I've bought a 4Gb SD card and now I've to learn what to do. Can I simply copy the entire content of the old SD onto the new one?

Instead of Italy now I'll download the entire Europe. One downloaded where do I have to put all the files?

Sorry for so many questions but it's the first time for me doing that.

    Thanks again...

Copy all from old one to new one exept map

Download this bootloader [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
copy system file your OLD SD-Card root directory and start your tomtom one time with old card
then check *.bif file again, there is bootloader changed 5.5128 ....confirm that

put map files 1 directory eg named Europe (be sure there is not folder inside folder)
what map version you download ?

can you send your device type, here is bottom of device type like this 4EE0.001.00

I've followed your instructions and I can confirm the the new 4Gb SD work and that the bootloader chanhed to 5.5128. Now I'm downloading the europe maps (it takes some time since all the rapidshare/hotfile/megaupload/fileserve link are dead and there's only filefactory...

As soon as I've downloaded the Europe Map and put them in a directory Europe I'll let you know.

    My device type is 4N00.012

    Thanks very much indeed...
