TomTom NDS is garbage when it comes to using it for cycle or hiking.
It will never put you on the cycle or hiking paths because it does not see them.
That is why Tomtom dropped that function.
You pick cycle and it will put you on the same roads as cars the same with hiking.
There are many paths that are a lot safer to use then always being on the road with TomTom NDS
The tip here is pick the right GPS app for what you want to do.

It works on S22Ultra (SM-S908U1)
FYI, this NDS version is able to install then download maps on S22Ultra (SM-S908U1 with the latest Software update version:S908U1UEU2AVE4... with Android security patch level May 1, 2022) VS. the previous NDS 3.2.12, which ONLY worked on Samsung software update with Android security patch level Apr 1, 2022.
Hope someone will release the mod version soon.
