TomTom - Maps & Traffic (former AmiGO)

For me it does not work using offline maps, I can download them no problem but try and create a route offline always fails. When using online I found the amount of data used to be around 47mb for a 28 mile drive which is far more than the 'educational' TomTom app we have all been using.
Phones used in trial are a Galaxy S24 Ultra running Android 16 and a rooted Galaxy S8+ running an Android 16 custom rom with TomTom - Maps & Traffic 16.52.0-production

For me, the July production release didn't allow me to download offline maps. So I switched to the beta program on the Play Store, and then I was able to download maps. Everything works fine now.

After you install, force stop the app or restart your phone and it will give you the option to download the maps. I never use the playstore myself, all my downloads come from apkpure or apkmirror and on the very odd ocassion, from f-droid. Have you successfully created a route while offline?

Yes, I can plan a route without Wi-Fi or mobile data. Of course, before planning my route, I downloaded all the necessary maps (Slovenia in my case).

Initially, the distance shown is incorrect, but after about 30 seconds everything is fine.

Will not do it for me, u.k maps installed but searching for an address only shows me no internet connection.

I think you downloaded the wrong version. Download the beta version from Google Playstore. It works for me and others so it should work for you too.

Regarding to AI:

If you do not see any additional options in your app, it means your tester profile has not been activated for this specific A/B test group yet.TomTom rolls out this feature in the AmiGO beta program gradually. Even if you have the exact same version (17.34.1-beta), the feature remains hidden until it is enabled on your account via TomTom's servers.

I can't download offline maps 🤷🏻

That is the official version.

After installation, it may take up to 24 hours before you can download offline maps.

I originally downloaded the app from apkmirror, installs fine and downloads the maps but cannot create route without internet connection.
I have now installed through Aptoid and Aurora store and both function as intended, I have never had any problems with apkmirror in the past and would never have thought of it being the problem so many thanks for the pointers, it's much appreciated.
To those having problems downloading maps, just force stop the app and reopen or reboot your phone and map downloads will appear.

I have de-googled my phones as much as I can and do not use the Playstore........ever, call me paranoid but the less info I give google the better.
