    4. How good was map coverage?
    5. Are you satisfied with routing?
    6. Which country did you use it in?
    7. Has it ever let you down?
    8. Is there anything you miss inside TomTom?
    9. How was it in compare to: iGO, Sygic Truck, Copilot, Google Maps, Sygic GPS Here We GO etc etc.

    8. a "pop-up window" with a menu for a change of route (eg a long delay or an obstacle in front of me), where I could make this change of route with one touch. Simply easier to choose a detour while driving

TomTom Go: (Was OK but it is now at end of life and the new TomTom GO still stuck in the mud. )

Standalone: (Never had any problems but not being used anymore TomTom XL)

Other Standalone are still in use (Garmin Nuvi 2595 and Garmin SmartDrive 61) for long trips you can not beat them.

    TomTom NDS: (See below)
    1. Yes (still testing)
    2. Car
    3. Most of the time
    4. For Belgium OK have not tried it since lock down in other countries
    5. No problems
    6. As of right now Belgium after lock down Germany, Holland and Luxembourg
    7. It is a smartphone app so there are many updates but true for any GPS apps.
    8. Not at this time (Just do not add to many things into it like Sygic which in most cases are not needed.)
    9. With Sygic about the same.

    PS:

The TomTom NDS is there as a backup great for walking around in the city and getting you back to the hotel.

I have only used the NDS app in this country and I don't find it as appealing to the eye as the Go app, just my preference but routing is the same as the GO app so far.

    TTGO
    1. Very satisfied.
    2. Car.
    3. Very reliable
    4. Very good map coverage although a local beauty spot (Blaencuffin Canyon near Pontypool) is missing. Also missing in all other apps.
    5. Most of the time, sometimes it likes to take narrow country lanes no matter what routing method is chosen. Applies to all other apps as well
    6. U.K, USA, New Zealand and, in walking mode, Hong Kong
    7. No
    8. Sygic truck, Sygic car or Navigon would be my preferences should TomTom be lost.

Thank you guys. I hope others will share their experience.

I am using licensed version - I bought it....I believe it is 19.99 per year. This way I support authors and I suggest that we all do. We can use navigation from this forum as a test etc but at the end it is nice to support at least one company by doing so. Thanks

    I bought

    • TomTom GO
    • iGO World
    • Sygic GPS
    • Sygic Car
    • Copilot

I am driving in it at the moment in Germany and so far my experience is good. TMC is amazingly accurate I would say instant. As far as routing goes I am satisfied. Sometimes it give routes that are bit longer or not logic at first but in the end acceptable. I am using it in car mode *Truck I have never tried.

What we need at the moment is fixed my drive issue and sync. TomTom needs quick route options on one click. It is a bit impractical to change route settings, alternative routes while we are driving. POI, Address search could be better *faster*. I still do not understand why they keep pushing this one LINE search system. I love iGO system. Map colors could have been better *more alive, vivid and green *real look*

    COUNTRY
    CITY
    STREET
    NUMBER

Comparing to others...TomTom coverage is little bit outdated especially for Balkan and other parts. This needs to be fixed.

    5 star as top rating.

    1. How satisfied are you? 5 star
    2. What mode (car, truck, motorbike) car
    3. How reliable was it? 5 star
    4. How good was map coverage? 5 star
    5. Are you satisfied with routing? 5 star
    6. Which country did you use it in? NA
    7. Has it ever let you down? Never
    8. Is there anything you miss inside TomTom? maps could be more detail; alerts sounds (speeding/camera) could be more options to choose; interface color could be more customize; more funny voices.
    9. How was it in compare to: iGO, Sygic Truck, Copilot, Google Maps, Sygic GPS Here We GO etc etc.
NDS is faster than TomTom Go; use less storage space; easier to update map, due to better map format.
NDS interface is 2 times better than Sygic; and 5 times better than Google maps during naviagtion.
For searching, no one can beat Google maps yet.

    Thank you.
