From the NDS 1.0.5 thread post #3:

    Difference is the following:

    - Improved graphics

    - You can download countries separately bot regions like with the TT GO

    - Continuous update

    - App downloads only what is new not the whole package all over again

Today the Asian maps didn't show "up to date". I deleted the maps and downloaded the (new) maps, that where indeed larger (UAE was 48 mb, download was 56 mb, new map shows 53 mb). Maps show up-to-date now. Same for other maps from Asia section of maps

I just check and it show all maps up-to-date.

Never had a problem with it.

Like I posted before I do get notice of updates.

I can not be troubled with deleting the maps every couple of weeks.
For the chance there might be new roads......

The best bet is just to wait.

I have also stand alone units and map updates come every 3 or 4 months.

Never have gotten lost or routed wrong.

If you are not getting any info that your maps are up-to-date or not telling you of updates.

Then I would do a complete removal of the app clear the cache and start over.

This app runs very smooth and have no problems with it.

It would be nice if they made this app available for the European market.

Maybe later seeing that is in trial in South America for Toyota cars.

Never had to do it like this too Asprin. I always got small updates, which the app indicated were ready to download. Me too don't like the idea to have to download maps every week or month. Better to have small updates (like mapshare) or big download every 3 months.

Maybe this was a one time thing, since in the past it was different. We will see. I just noticed and informed you people.

Over at the TomTom forum they are saying there is a problem with updates working.

Here is a quote from one of the TomTom Moderator:

    "Hi All,

Users of the Android TomTom Navigation app have not received map updates for a while. However, we're happy to share that you can now get a fresh map if you remove and re-download your maps. We thank you for your patience while we are still working hard on also offering the fresh map as a map update so that the re-download step won’t be necessary anymore in the future."

I will wait no rush for a couple of updates every 2 or 3 weeks.
