Yes me too, have to enable play store and add google account to get working internet connection on tomtom so it will start.
Does anyone know how to fix this so i can keep play store disabled?

Tomtom Go 1.16 patched not started after play store freezed/disabled
Hello!
I'm used patched Tomtom Go 1.16.
Google play always update play services and drain battery. Freezed (disabled) fully google play store.
After disabled play store, Tomtom not started.
How to start Tomtom without play store, play services?
Maps downloaded, working... (with play store enabled)

That doesn't matter, every version of Go always had this problem. So also the latest version, even the free one downloaded from pkay store. It's something tomtom has build in and i can not get it to work without it (even tried detaching from play store, disable some app components, used lucky patcher to remove licence check, etc).

Ah, that is better explanation of "problem".
You must read manual from DFoX again:
1) install the app from Google Play store. <--------DO THIS FIRST !!!!!!
app is connected to play store. Like the very much most of them. And yes, that is done by TT, it's impossible that the app works without it.
It is very likely possible that also the content which is downloaded in connection with google.
Use it this way or do not. If you can patch better then DFoX, try.

P.S. It is not a problem.
Problem is that you are using app that you are not payed
And yet still complain.
You also use system (Android) and you do not want to use his essential component. OK, I understand that, but this is not to place to discuss about this.

Yes app is connected to play store like almost all of the apps on android. But no other apps that i know of require play store and google account just to connect to own servers to download map and some settings, should be done directly.
So yes it is a problem, because now you are forced to create google account, use the play store (instead of better alternatives to my opinion), etc.
And no if you read my comment correctly i'm not complaining about an paid app, i already said it is happening to free version also. So has nothing to do with paying or not, even when i pay i will have this problem!
Eh essential component on android? Tell me what these are and do not mention the optional google apps, because these are not essential for the open android system!

Not for the system itself, but for online communication
Although not all functions of the system are available without them.
Btw, many applications require gapps for normal operation
But, to return to the topic and Forum:
