pin Android Go vs traditional GO950 Comparison: extended test

    This is my opinion:

    where Android go is better:
    1) live traffic
    2) always updated maps
    3) live speedcams
    4) internet search

    where Android is worse:

    1) autozoom: the 950 is quite always perfect; the Android needs continuos adjustment
    2) routing: the 950 is quite always perfect; the Android selects preferably main/principal freeways assuming that you driv there at the maximum allowed speed. If you have a calm style of driving, the Android actually calculates a much longer and expensive route, or unconfortable route.
    3) sudden complete redrawing of the map when transitioning from 3D buildings areas to normal areas.
    4) the arrow on the top on the screen is too big and displays also the name of the street where you have to turn. There is no way to eliminate the name of the next road. The font is too big and often doesnt allow you to see where to turn at the end of the road
    5) where you have 3D buildings you dont understand clearly where you have to turn; sometimes the path is behind a building and is really confusing
    6) (and this is VERY BAD for the android): the ARROW on the map (NOT THE ONE ON THE TOP) that SHOWS you your next turn is too small, and you hardly see it, specially if you are in an area with 3d buildings. In addition the arrow on the top of the screen that "announces" you next turn is TOO BIG.
    7) the advanced lane guide of the Android pops up 800 meters before the junction; if there are subjunctions just before it you are most likely to lose yourself
    8) when you are in a tunnel the colors on the screen dont change; you dont understand that you have to keep a constant speed to have an accurate estimation of your position in a long tunnel
    9) impossible to display on the screen the personal pois, or have an alarm for it

In my opinion is a good product, but not enough mature to replace a good old GO 950.

Please pass these comments to tomtom if possible, if you know someone there.
