Well, its working now, downloaded in a Windows 7 pc, and the .metadata.xml is present.

The installation was quick and painless

    installs fine.
but: "the app cannot connect to TomTom.."

Before installing the cracked TomTom Go app, you first have to install the official google play app, run it, uninstall it... and then install the cracked app...

Having spent a good few hours earlier today trying to install tomtom uk and roi on my fathers Samsung galaxy s3 without any joy will give the above quoted method a try but sadly don't hold out much hope ?! this galaxy s3 is running 3.3 FW but constantly getting the cannot connect message routine. have read thru all the various posts and to be honest am really stuck on what to try and what not to try. have tried installing maps on the sd card and also on the phone itself without any joy. anyone help me out in beginners language on what I should try to get things working ? I take it there is no reason it should not run on 4.3 ? trying to install the latest uk and ROI map and apk found on this section.
any help would be great !

If you have this message, "The app cannot connect to TomTom.
    Check your phone’s internet connection"
    Then uninstall LuckyPatcher

I have never run into any problems where I have to uninstall LuckyPatcher.
TomTom GO has always connected with not problems at all.
I just updated my maps yesterday.

And the same when I was using v1.4.

Yesterday, I reinstall my device, with luckypatcher, and GO 1.8.2 from google play can't connect.
I ununstall Luckypatcher and Go can connect normaly.
Another application like CallRecorder by skavalex has same problem with Luckypatcher.
After first connection, it's ok with luckypatcher.

Okay anyone advise me what this luckypatcher is that you guys are talking about , to be honest never ever heard of it mentioned before ? okay from you guys that have been lucky enough to get tomtom working on android could you kindly advise me exactly what you done as using the following guide certainly does not work for many with obviously the main problem referring to the unable to connect message being shown ?

do I have to install then uninstall this official apk as was suggested a few replies ago ?
does android 4.3 on the galaxy s3 support this tomrom ?

    Suggested instructions :

    1. Download all parts of your area.
    2. Unpack anywhere.
    3. Copy folder tomtom to your SD card.
    4. Copy included .apk to your SD card.
    5. Disable any internet connection in your phone (Put it into Airplane Mode)
    6. Install the .apk
    7. Launch the program. Let it load all it needs. Then close program.
    8. Enable internet connection.
    9. Enjoy![/b]
