Actually, wot you call 'jumbo shrimp' [that's an oxymoron] are called prawns over here but OZ Tourism had to roll on that 'cos they were told unless from Louisiana and surrounds most of you blokes wouldn't have had a flaming' clue wot Paul meant if he'd said "We'll throw another prawn on the barbie" [you'd just think it was some kinda kinky doll desecration i 'spose.].
Anyway, we rarely [if ever] BBQ prawns in OZ. Mostly we buy them cooked and chilled, and just peel 'em and eat 'em cold with a little dip in seafood sauce optional. If i was going to barbeque them, i'd buy some green [uncooked] big-assed Kings, peel but leave the tail on them [handy to hold] and flash them both sides on a very hot plate with lots of fresh crushed garlic or maybe marinate them first. Saying over here 'Throw another shrimp on the barbie' in any NA accent would likely get you a close-up view of whether our toilets do indeed swirl clockwise in the southern hemisphere, accompanied by much hooting of "Lick the bowl Seppo!" [most Aussies don't like Yanks as much as i do unfortunately].
