what is the difference between sticky threads and normal threads?![]()
A normal thread is one that is posted in the order of last modification. A sticky thread is one full of sugars and therefore stuck to the top, it's easier for lazy* people to find.
* because they have low energy and are too lazy to search/browse to find what they need, the added sugar help them
So .....? He asked 'don't beat me' yet you BOTH beat him up! Seems little point me doing the same. Devil's Advocate it is then.
G'day Mabias. When i first joined a forum as a young slip of a thing, back in about 250BC, i didn't know the difference either but being very young i was way too timid to ask so just had to work it out for myself eventually. Now that i'm old and full of spit and vinegar i don't give a flying fig wot anyone thinks anymore so have asked all the stupid questions it's possible to think of, consequently i know all the stupid answers too.
BTW, both of them, particularly Caty has a great sense of humour and the LMGTFY link would be light-hearted. She never had to ask any questions [stupid or otherwise] and never gives stupid answers, quite unlike Osiris and myself. However Osiris has dropped even more clangers than me and got beaten up severely by others, even i've been tempted to sink the boot into him occasionally. So don't feel bad 'cos it took me months to work out what a Sticky thread was for meant to be for, where you've found out very quickly.
On a more pleasant note: Welcome to GPS Power, i read your intro thread in Members Presentation section. Nice you followed up on smokefree's welcome reply, very few new members do that. That's what made me post here to defend you a little but i reckon by your age [i've got nearly a decade on you] you've long ago learned to not 'give a flying fig' anyway.
PS: Stop hitting yourself on the head, it feels real good when you stop but that's not a valid reason to start.![]()

Yes, but my "beating" was sugar coated. If you learned anything from what I said, the top most sticky post should be heavily sugared and therefore catered to the most lazied*.
* yeah, I was shocked as well, lazied is a valid word
P.S. A month mate? Dang...
Yes i am indeed shocked ..... not about 'lazied', that's all good. But YOU shocked!? I'm indeed shocked ... oh wait i already said that.
Jeeps! Pay attention and lay off the cactus juice Tax. I said months, plural. I'm not smart enough to have worked out what a sticky is in a single month. Dammit, where's our free-talk section gone ..... I'd like to hear what our new Roman friend has to say before we have toP.S. A month mate? Dang...-can this.

My third post on Noeman's got a yellow card lolOriginally Posted by Neil

I'm not handicapped fortunately, so I try to find answers and solutions by myself usually because my time is precious and I don't like to wait someone else does it for me. Not always it's a good choice indeed.
Anyway a forum is created to discuss and make questions (stupid or not) so everybody is welcome.
PS. If questions are too stupid may be they go to trash or we take the chance to have fun with some off topics.
Mostly I dislike these users who make posts to increase post count.

Mabias M8 don't listen to this Mob ^^^^^^^^^
They have no Idea M8 what they are talking about, A STICKY catches Fly's and that's it"Geeeeeeees tis simple ah" and a non sticky post is a post that doesn't stay where you put it keeps moving around "coz it's stuck to the butt of a Mod/Admin and falls off some where in the corridors of the Forum."
Anyway a Sticky is set at top of a thread and is always there.
A non sticky seems to be a normal post and is moved around or deleted by Mods/Admin "think of them as Cats, they play with stuff and it ends up under a chair and they can't get at it and there it may stay till they can reach it.
Hope my explanation is more reliable then the others.
Enjoy your stay.
