The simplest way to unlock the Garmin map file on a memory card is to use the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Read the instructions carefully in that thread. You may need to rename the map file to "gmapsupp.img" if it's not already the current name. The file could of course be renamed back to the original name after the unlocking process.

How?
Put files from rar-archive in your c:\garmin dir on your pc & start “All.bat”. And ALL your maps, installed in MapSource will be unlocked. Now you can put your maps to any Garmin device or Mobile XT or Que without *.unl files.
No messing with MapIDs, device IDs, keygens or .unl files.

I've just unlocked maps for my Garmin Streetpilot C550 easily.

Hi im pretty new on this trying to read as mutch as possible to figure out how the heck these maps are locked,and how to get my Garmin TOPO Sweden Friluftskartan Pro v2 - Norra Norrland to work on my Oregon 300. but to be unnest, im totaly off :/

I downloaded the unlock file but it seems to be broken

Hi everybody

I've been using GarminUnlocker for several years now.
Always using the same process with the new maps.
First using mapreverseconverter then runing all.bat

For the first time MapUnlocker failed to unlock CNE 2012.10
It was unlocked for Mapsource but the ***.img created from Mapsouce was still locked in the device.
I had to use the other tools available to achieve to unlock this .img file.

Is it possible to have this piece of software tweaked so that it can be used with the new maps. As I understand it is still part of the other unlockers.

Each time I want to create a new .img file from this mapset (2012.10) I have to unlock it again.
That's why this unlocker was great to me once the map unlocked it was done for ever.

Wow! It works very well.

First time I had also Mapsource running whilst running this promgramm and that doesn't work, so close Mapsource first and than unlock your data.

Can´t get it to work. Could someone please tell how to do it step by step?

Thanks for the unlocker and hello to everyone on forum, On holiday and didn't have file with me. I've used it on City navigator Australia 2007 up to 2010, USA, Oztopo and blue chart before with no problems. Thank you (c)whocares.
