    Guide Garmin Language Guide

Some old Garmin nüvi and zumo devices had an option that it is very useful: The Language Guide

The Language guide it was an utility from the "Utilites" menu of that nüvi and zumo devices, it was simply a dictionary with words and phrases that could be pronuncitoned by the .vpm language voice of the GPS. But it had a condition, it was 30 day trial, after of that peroid, you will need to buy the unlock code (that was commonly inside of a SD or micro SD card). Unfortunatly, the service was descontinued, like the vent of that code.

For unlocking that function, you need to follow these steps:

    1-Downoad the archives:

Make sure that you downloaded these files
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    2- Getting ready

Once that the files have been extracted, Conect your GPS to your PC and go to X:/Garmin/LEX_PKG

You will see two files inside LEX_PKG named: lex_pkg.ver and lex_pkg.sum, delete them and replace that files with the others that you downloaded in the LanguageGuideUnlock folder.

    3-Unlock the Language Guide

Download JetMouse, go to Select map product and select: custom mapset

Put 900 on FID an 2 on PID, generate the code and copy it

Go to the downloaded folder and open D046800.unl with the Notepad, delete all the text, paste the code and save the file

    4-Insert the file

Copy the D046800.unl file into the Garmin folder (X:/Garmin) and retire the device.

    5-Test

Turn on your GPS, go to Utilites, go down, and click the Language Guide option.

If this didn't worked, check your GPS model, if it is 1xxx, 2xxx or modern series, these is probably caused by a GMA or fimware lock, this can be repaired using RGN tool, and replacing the GUPDATE.GCD archive on .System folder (it are a lot of guides to how to do this, and there are a lot of already GUPDATE.CGD files to copy to .System folder on this and another fourms), if your GPS dosen't has the GMA or fimware lock, this is probably caused by a error on the system or an error in the process.

Note: This is what i needed to do on a nüvi 1300 (including the GMA unlocking process), if this process is diferent in other GPS models, you have a problem, something dosen't worked or you want to post something relationed with this, do it here!
