    Default 66st Whiz V6

    Hi Guys
This is a new program for changing the intro splash image (usually a black screen with Garmin logo) to any user supplied 240x400 bitmap image.
New features since version 1 include the ability to use background images from several other GPSr models,
and a feature to also change the test image that appears in the GPS diagnostic mode. Full instructions are in a readme file in the package.
    Cheers!

    Hi,
I’ve been updating this quietly. I know only a few people are using it, and this could be the last one.

It should work for future firmware versions now, but since I can only test with the only two versions so far,
I’ll test it myself when 2.60 comes out, and release an unlock code for this to accept anything later than 2.50.

The actual program should not have to be updated, there’s just a little thing you have to do to get it to accept future firmware.
It searches the firmware gcd file for known images, etc. If Garmin changed anything drastic it would error and auto quit.

Hi Yeah this was the first thing I did with it. This program had an unlock code that I could have just posted,
but it did have an incompatibility, and failed to find the location of the test image in 2.80.
Have fixed now, but will need to upload a whole new program version tomorrow (it’s bed time here now).

Basically, you had to leave the readme file in the program folder, and change the word “locked” to “unlocked”, save the readme, and the program would work with future versions.
Since that was the only problem it had with firmware 2.80, I’ll get rid of that lock.

This is the new version that supports firmware version 2.80 (and hopefully many fur versions as well).
I forgot to upload a version that changed the text that appears at startup, but that’s in this version as well.
You could write your name on it or something.

I tested with the new firmware 3.40 and all is still well.
A lot of the same old bugs are still present in firmware, but that’s the same modified or not.
