@Butters
Welcome!
I have a Garmin DriveAssist 50 lm device with an EU map so I can add another map because it says they are not good and useless. You would describe in detail how it should be resolved. Lest I make a brick out of it. Thanks.
System Software Missing in it's most benign form simply means that the flash has been incomplete. In such a case the device defaults to preboot mode and re-flashing either the original firmware or properly-patched firmware as an RGN file via Updater.exe will restore it. Go to this thread and follow the guide if such re-flashing original firmware doesn't help: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. At it's most problematic the device may be 'hard-bricked' due to an incorrect software being flashed previously. Double check the HWID with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] if preboot mode is available to it. Due to the similarity in names and closeness of HWID numbers there is a real risk of DriveSmart 61 (HWID 2588) and Drive 61 (HWID 2587) firmware being accidentally cross-flashed.
PS: IMPORTANT: You should edit your original post to remove or disguise your Device ID (UID).

@Lezli
We cannot give direct help here if it breaches software/firmware EULAs due to the forum rules. You need to 'patch' the firmware so search the web for "Universal Firmware Patcher" to get the solution you need.
I could flash the firmware 6.20 for drive61 with the universal firmware patcher. Here is the download link: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for the patched gupdate.gcd
With most devices it's enough to update with the patched firmware. But I am not shure it will work also for Drive61.

No, that gupdate.gcd will not work with Lezli's device. Drive 61 has HWID 2587. DriveAssist 50 has HWID 2270 so it will refuse the GCD file for Drive61, even original fw. Regardless, patched fw has to be loaded either with an RGN file in preboot or with BIN files by microSD for both D61 and DA50 because the devices have GVS protection. Lezli can easily find the correct file he needs by searching.
Hi, where can I find original firmware .gcd file for Drive 61/ Hwid 2587 ? The device seems to be soft bricked - continuos bootloop after showing " loading maps" . Preboot mode is accessible so I want to try a cured version based on original firmware.
