Thread: Nuvi 1490 Keyboard QWERTY files (solved)

Hi All,

I was trying to update firmware of my Nuvi 1490. I noticed that it wasn't showing much junction views. Out of lack of knowledge, I formatted the whole thing. It still boots up, I updated map with Map Updater and then figured out from this forum that I need the latest and biggest JCV file. All of that works nicely.
However formatting caused QWERTY keyboard to go away I was a moron not to backup anything.
So how do I bring the QWERTY back ?
Tried downgrading firmware etc, no luck. Any of the Garmin software won't show me keyboard files again

So do I need to just copy the keyboard folder with all kbd files to Garmin directory ?

I did that but still no qwerty/abcd option shown. It just shows American English. Am I missing something ?
