Patched MapInstall 4.0.4
Works with Jetmouse only, NOT send files ALL drives, you need Your current UnLock code in UnlockCodes.ucx
Use your own device
or use eg. "Unit ID 1" for all maps unlock and use virtual usb drive and garmindevice.xml with "Unit ID 1" like me
You can also use USB pen drive with Garmin folder....
Not crach for me with some area testing with Win7....

Attached file Install_UnlockCodes-UnitID-1.rar include some unlock codes to some maps best way to edit it is notepad++

Looks like some added research is needed to find out why this executable crashes when patched with the patcher. It almost seems like the code is being rewritten to jump to a particular location, but that location no longer exists in the code.
The only difference between v4.0.3 and v4.0.4 is support for new Japan CN maps. Quoted from the Garmin MapInstall download page:
So if you're not using any new Japan CN maps, just keep using the patched version 4.0.3.Changes made from version 4.0.3 to 4.0.4:
◦ Added support for new Japan City Navigator maps
Which I did the moment this problem cropped up. However, it's still important to figure out why the patcher is no longer working. I believe the garmindevice.xml trick is not all that artful a solution and pietu's solution is, in my opinion, just plain ugly.
Hello, I leave a patched version of 4.0.4 MapInstall. Includes send to any unit. It is only de *.exe file. Replace the original file for this.
Try and comment ..
