Basecamp reads IMGs and all the maps installed in Mapsource.
To see an .img in Basecamp:
Copy your .img in a Garmin folder in an sd and plug your sd in your pc, open Basecamp and select the map in your sd library ,right click and click show map.
    read this too

Thanks 'catymag' I managed to get that to work. But it doesn't get the maps into Basecamp (the map (OZ & NZ Topo) ) so I can use it on the PC...i have to remove the microSD from the Montana every time I want to use it in Basecamp. I have Canada Topo installed into Basecamp, but I think it was an installer that did it.

    I will keep reading & searching...try...try...again :-).
