Hello, i want to ask: how i can get the rgn file from Etrex Venture HC unit?which tool i must take? i want from one unit copy firmware and place in other unit.

Method from Caty mentioned above is not possible for you device!
Use Garmin firmware downloader/reconstructor
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Usage: gda.exe [<original.rgn> <result.rgn>]
<original.rgn> - name of software RGN file from Garmin.com (download it and put in folder with gda.exe)
<result.rgn> - your name for new file that you get from device

If you can friend, explain it. i can`t get rgn file from etrex with this soft..

I work with gps systems.. i have one etrex with lithuanian language, and i have about 50 etrex without lithuania language, i want make all etrex with lithuanian language.do you understand friend? i want get rgn file from etrex and with updater place it in other etrex.i can`t find tool to do it..

the problem is that, one etrex is with lithuania language other without it. with webupdater without lithuania language..etrex gps when connect with pc, pc can`t see flash, only with mapsource..

RGN tool can only edit file if you have it, but i can`t "take" it from etrex, because etrex flash pc don`t see..

Do you try to use GDA or not?
I do not remember experience with Etrex Venture HC (it is very not friendly device) but this programm work fine on other old Garmin hendhelders.

can you explain what i must to do with gda soft? in gda soft are not instruction..

Make folder GDA in c:\
Unpack in this folder gda.exe
Put original software file with version what is correspond version of soft in your device, for example if device softversion is 2.70 - 069501000270.RGN or 078601000270.RGN (695 or 786 ID of you device if you do not no it you can get it by G7ToWin programm).
Go to Windows - Start - Run... - and type "c:\gda\gda.exe 069501000270.RGN 069501000270_LT.RGN" (or same way for 078601000270.RGNif your ID is 786) - when press OK and watch for screen...

If result is OK you get new file - 069501000270_LT.RGN. It is software from device. THERE ARE NO other way to get software from device.
