does this version has TTS?
@bahama99
Garmin Mobile PC v5.00.70 supports TTS. It uses the Windows native TTS engine and has nothing to do with Garmin TTS voices.
By default there's only "Microsoft Anna - English (United States)" available in Windows Vista and Windows 7. Chinese Windows Vista & 7 versions also includes a Chinese TTS voice. Older Windows XP uses some other variants like "Microsoft Sam". Extra TTS languages has to be installed from 3rd part providers.

Copy the cards in the program folder, the names they will have as a mobile version:
gmapbmap.img - basemap
gmapsupp.img - your map
gmapsup2.img - another card
gmapprom.img - another card
Create files for them to unlock (for base maps unlocking is not necessary!), respectively:
gmapsupp.unl - unlock file for your card
gmapsup2.unl - unlock a file for another card
gmapprom.unl - unlock a file for another card
----------------------
sw.unl - file unlock the program. He needed to see third-party software and integrated GPS-module, different from the module manufacturer Garmin!
----------------------
In this archive invested all four ready to unlock the files!
You only need to generate the necessary codes by using keygens (IMEI-converter is needed for smartphones for ID) and paste the code into a file in any text editor.
----------------------
Files unlock go into the folder Garmin - mobile version (XT).
Unlocking files go in folder GarminMobilePC program - is for the laptop (PC).

I have installed as per the instructions but I keep getting prompted "Did this purchase of Garmin Mobile PC include a Garmin GPS receiver". I have the *.unl files in the Mobile PC Directory and can see the maps fine if I skip the authentication.
Any ideas?
Cheers!
Hello all,
thank you very much for all the info here.
Catymag,
Do I understand this correct: could I have up to four different mapsets in the Garmin folder?:
gmapbmap.img - basemap
gmapsupp.img - your map
gmapsup2.img - another card
gmapprom.img - another card
As long as I name them this way?
The latter two "imposing" as a card, or should they really be cards? (sorry for the Noob question, I always have to have it spelled out)
I want to use mobilerPC basically to see what map images I have. For navigation in my car I use mainly NRoute as it can be used in the same way as Mapsource. In that respect, is there anyway I can use MobilePC to see/handle tracks?
Cheers,
Dustbite
@Dustbite
You can have 4 map images in your GarminMobilePC folder and you name them depending on which Version you have:
in v5.00.60 and earlier:
gmapbmap.img (Base Map)
gmapprom.img (detail map)
gmapsupp.img (detail map)
gmapsup2.img (detail map)
In v5.00.70:
gmapbmap.img (Base Map)
gmapprom.img (detail map)
gmapprom1.img (detail map)
gmapsupp.img (detail map)
v5.00.60 & earlier won't recognize gmapprom1 and v5.00.70 won't recognize gmapsup2, but either way you can have 3 detail maps plus the base map. Forget the "card" stuff, I think that's just a translation glitch, they're all just map images.
If you want even more maps, you can of course combine them with Mapsource up to the 2Gb image size limit and then have up to 6Gb of detail maps, or just keep in your gmpc folder additional maps coveniently named (nth_amer.img for example) and rename to a legitimate .img when needed.
EDIT: See Post #46 by syzygy for info on adding an extra map to version5.00.70 (gmapsup2.img) using hex edit. Be sure you're competent with a hex editor and heed syzygy's backup & user's own risk warnings. Thanks syzygy![]()
