Arrow Indian Maps for Java Enabled Phones

Finally detailed maps of india are available.
Dont get too excited as these maps are from GOOGLE and YAHOO INDIA MAPS.
That means NO TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION & SEARCHING (possible if you have GPRS ). You can use the GPS receiver if you have that in your phone.

Download MGmaps from here[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Also gMapMaker 0.7.2.2 provided here.
Its a windows software used to download and save maps from google , yahoo etc.

    Steps -
    * Install mgmaps in your phone.
    * Next go here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
and select the map region required by putting at least 3 markers on the map.oApmDAAbH
(You can do this by left clicking on the map )
    * Fill the zoom level in the columns provided (for indian maps max zoom level is 17)
Leave the level of detail and type of map as it is.
    * Hit the "generate!" button and you will get a .map file.
    * Install gMapMaker and open it
    * Select "MGmaps mode , download tiles using a .map file" as the operating mode.
Leave rest of the options as it is.
    * Click 'Go...' button.OapMfaABH
    * It will ask for the .map. Just open the .map file you previously downloaded.
    * Now downloading of map tiles will start. It will be saved to the 'MGMapsCache' of the gmapmaker install directory.
    * Copy the entire folder 'MGMapsCache' to the root of the memory card.
    * Open MGmaps in the phone. Just go through its options and you should be able to load the saved maps.

    Thats it people.
Google maps provide the best maps of india.
Note : Goolge may ban your IP for 24 hours if you download too many tiles in a short time. Use of proxy is highly recommended.
You can also try out yahoo india maps. Its the same maps provided by mapmyindia
