Maybe yes, but (for now) we don't have section for Mac OS-X GPS software, and many of these tools (maybe all) are posted in same thread with versions for Windows (threads are separated by program and not by OS), so it would not be easy to separate them

Is there a way to get these back, or will it matter if I use one of the install methods to "update" to a newer map version? Sorry, new here, haven't tried anything. And oh dear, oh my ... . So you deleted the map from the sd card? Or is there a sd card in nuvi 855 or has it a HDD?

OK, I had a look about the specifications of the Garmin Nuvi 855 and it uses an sd card. And therefore I am afraid that you cannot restore the deleted files. They are lost.

But the good news are (maybe) that you do not have a $175 worth of paperweight. The maps can be loaded from this forum, first of all, there is a thread called [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You can request the lost map from there. But first try to find if the map -link already exists in this forum ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]).

Also, you might find the new version of the lost map from here, so you probably do not that old and lost map anyway.

i downloaded the latest version of mapsource and the patch but as i do not have the any prior version of mapsource installed, the installation failed.

may i know how to get the installation going?(ie which prior version must i download or is there a way to circumvent the prior version installed check?)

Download Garmin Training Centre from here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] , and install.

You should then be able to install Mapsource.

If you don't need Training Centre, you can then uninstall it.

Hi, I notice that the newer version of mapsource 6.16 up is not compatible with third party map. If i revert back to 6.13 version, everything works fine. Is there a way around this. please help
