    Default Route66 Mobile 7 - 7.3.468 - Support with N95 internal GPS

    [marquee]Route66 Mobile 7 - 7.3.468 - Support with N95 internal GPS[/marquee]

Mobile 7 - Europe turns your smartphone all at a sudden into a powerful navigation system up to house number accuracy!

After a short installation, turn-by-turn voice instructions and on-screen directions will guide you from your current position to the destination that you have entered. You can add any number of intermediate waypoints to your route that you may have selected from your personal contacts, your favourites and your most recent destinations as well. If you miss a turn, then Mobile 7 - Europe immediately recalculates your route. You can automatically download up-to-date traffic information from the ROUTE 66 internet site via a GPRS connection to your smartphone, even when you are on the road. This non-stop FREE service helps you via dynamic routing to avoid traffic jams, road works or accidents and is available in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland

What's more? You can display the map in night colours to keep a clear view on the road even when you are driving at night or in bird view to display the map as you would see it if you could fly like a bird. In addition to all this, you can navigate to any of the many points-of-interest like hotels, restaurants and petrol stations. You can even dial them directly to make for example a hotel reservation or inquiry before going there! In summary, Mobile 7 - Europe is a must for everyone looking for an affordable, flexible and powerful navigation system!

    Bird view and night colours
Beside the usual two-dimensional display of the map, with Mobile 7 - Europe you can switch to bird view, showing the map on the screen of your smartphone as you would see it if you could fly like a bird. You can also switch to night colours to keep a clear view on the road while driving at night. This feature shows the map in colours of reduced intensity.

    Dynamic routing
With Mobile7 - Europe you can automatically download up-to-date traffic information from the ROUTE 66 internet site via a GPRS connection to your smartphone, even when you are on the road. This non-stop FREE service helps you via dynamic routing to avoid traffic jams, road works or accidents and is available in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

    Points of Interest
Besides towns, cities and streets, Mobile 7 - Europe contains no less than 78,000 points-of-interest like hotels, restaurants and petrol stations, most of which together with their addresses and telephone numbers. You can search for points-of-interest in a radius of 10 (6), 20 (12), 50 (30) or 100 (60) kilometres (miles) from your current position and dial them directly to make for example a hotel reservation or inquiry before going there.

    Personal Preferences
With Mobile 7 - Europe you can set such personal preferences as the distance units (miles or kilometres), the volume of the voice instructions (from weak to loud), automatic map rotation (on or off), the type of route (shortest or fastest), the means of transportation (car, lorry or pedestrian) and your personal speed profile.

    Voice instructions and on-screen directions
When your smartphone is connected to the GPS receiver, you only need to enter your destination once after which Mobile 7 - Europe will do all the work for you. As soon as your exact position has been determined, turn-by-turn voice instructions and on-screen directions will guide you to your destination. If you miss a turn and go off course, your route is recalculated immediately. This way you can always focus on the traffic that is ahead of you.

    Adding waypoints
With Mobile 7 - Europe you can add waypoints to your route by choosing them from the points-of-interest database, your personal contacts, your most popular destinations, your most recent destinations or simply by pointing on a location on the map.

    GPS information
When your smartphone is connected to the GPS receiver, Mobile 7 - Europe displays the GPS data like time, date, geographic coordinates, speed, driving direction, altitude and number of visible satellites on the screen of your smartphone.

    Personal contacts
With Mobile 7 - Europe you have full access to your personal contacts. You can add their addresses as waypoints to your route or display their location on the map. In this way you can easily add your family, friends or business partners to your route.

Default Works fine on N95 with internal gps

Hi i have installed the programme and it works fine with the N95 internal gps. It took about a minute to lock on first time but now less than 20seconds each time. It even works in the house about 2m away from window.

I got it to work... only with an external gps receiver and after copying the map to the directory in /system/route66/maps.

The ONLY USA maps I've been able to find that actually work for this one covers only a smattering of mid-western states and the map data (read: POI) is pretty old.
Unable to find ANY maps that work with it for the SouthEast, East, NorthWest, SouthWest, etc. Only thing that works is pretty much Kansas/Missouri in a tiny "corridor" west out to LA. Most of California and the entire US isn't even covered in that map and switching to any of the other USA map files (S-EAST.prm, EAST.prm, etc) gives one the dreaded "resource files missing, reinstall application" error message forcing one to delete the prefs.ini file in the system/app/route66 folder on the memory card to get it to select the lame "North America.prm" file which barely has anything in it.

Route 66: Great if you live/travel in Europe, horrible if you live/travel anywhere else.
