I have the Michelin Red Guide Restaurant and Hotel Guide) downloaded from Garmin 18 months ago.

I noticed recently I could no longer get search results in Garmin BaseCamp. I contacted Garmin support - had a very helpful guy who said he could see the results in his set up locally but couldn't work out why it was't working for me so escalated it to 2nd level.

The 2nd level response came back "I can confirm that these won't show, as they are additional DLC and are not like standard POI's from third party websites. That are installed with POI Loader. We have also tried this here to confirm and it do not show [sic] on our BaseCamp either so this is how it works."

I queried this mentioning the response of the first support agent and wondering if the issue was that I had moved the Michelin guide to a microSD card to allow for a map update. I received the following response: "I can confirm that these won't show as they are additional DLC and are not like standard POI's from third party websites that are installed with POI Loader. I have also tried this here to confirm and can confirm that these do not show on my BaseCamp either."

I cleared out some space on my Nuvi 3590 and moved the Michelin guide back to the internal memory and hey presto it shows up again in BaseCamp - this is not possible according to Garmin support ... but it is working and have sent support a screen grab to confirm. The Michelin logos no longer show as POI icons but all the information, searchable elements and locations are all present.

Hmmmm... would have hoped for better from Garmin support.
