The single file that contained the POI for the entire globe was fine. No modifications were needed. The POI software accepted it perfectly. I did not notice it slowing down the Kenwood DNX as compared to the Country specific files.

For the country you have two separate types of installation possibilities: with GPX file or ready GPI file

In the first case (GPX files) I do not know how you set the Poiloader .... in the second case (GPI file) all the POIs are alerted for distance. Then warn only once a predetermined distance

The distance you can see the file in GPX or manifesto of individual countries

Hmmm, this link I supply here exclusively is for free and only for Noeman members, no one else!

So I going to be over protective here and work out how to restrict it's future leeching. Noeman.org gives you for free this exclusive update every fortnight and has done so for the past year but until I can properly secure it there will be no more updates!

There are no mobile speed camera files that I can find in this database.
I even looked on the SCDB website and found no mention of mobile sites.

Thanks for all your hard work, you might like to take out the mobile parts in your description of the database.
I guess SCDB used to do mobiles, but I assume they no longer do.

Pocket GPS World still do mobiles (I have checked the UK version).

Ummm ... maybe the answer is in the semantics of what is being claimed by SCDB in regard to 'mobile', of which there's a couple of references in the update posts. The info is probably translated from DE to EN and other languages, which of course often results in minor clitches in that there can be subtle changes of meaning. Schermann is just quoting their claims (bold is my emphasis):

Powered by the weekly-updated database, your sat-nav knows the locations of:

* Fixed cameras
* Average speed cameras
* Variable cameras
* Temporary cameras / roadwork sites
* Red light speed cameras Mobile cameras

The above in bold probably refers to cameras which are moved around between static camera boxes so that some boxes are 'live' and some are 'dummy', maybe? As opposed to 'Fixed cameras' which are always live.

Further down there's also this:

* Directional camera alerts
* Camera-specific alerts such as average speed and mobile zones
* Alerts relevant to journey
* Overspeed alerts
* Alerts tailored to road layout and navigation experience

The last part of the second line in that statement i think clearly refers to the known zones where speed guns, mobile camera vans and portable marconi sets (if cops anywhere still use the latter) are used regularly.
