    Default Eonon 5154 Not Locking On To Satellites.

    Hi all,

    I have an Eonon 5154, a WINCE device running iGo Primo.

    I downloaded the latest maps and it worked fine once, now it doesn't lock on to satellites properly. It finds them and sometimes locks on to one or two after about 5 mins but never actually finds enough to actually work.

    I have a feeling this is due to the baud rate and port number but I have no idea what to change them to and struggle to get hold of Eonon, they are not very helpful at all.

    Does anyone know what these settings should be and what format they should be written in ie: should they have speech marks around them etc.

    It initially worked on port 2 with baud at 9600.

    Failing that, is there anything else I could be missing? The 'device' bit is also not the name of my device, how should that be worded?

    A copy of my SYS file is below.

    Many thanks!

    Welcome to Forum

    Remove:

    and read this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    You can use
    [gps]
    port="auto"
    baud="auto"
    send_init=0
    set_messages=0
    or find proper ports with iGO8 and replace values.

    It's a bit confusing. If it worked fine in the past and you didn't touch other settings since then, then you have GPS antenna issues. Maybe it's misplaced and that's why you have poor reception. Pull out the unit and check the antenna. It shouldn't be to deep*under the armature.

    Thanks very much for the replies!

    You were absolutely right, it was the placement of the antenna. It threw me because it worked fine once, so then started Googling and assumed port settings were wrong.

    Apologies for posting in the wrong section too.
