Personally as much as I would love to see a Navionics section I dont think it is possible especially now that you dont even get the maps till you plug your card into the computer after purchasing.
Now they aren't just for the US they cover a pretty good amount of europe as well.
The map structure is 10x what the current garmin vision series has in detail and accuracy as well.
Now in the US the iphone app is $15 which isnt bad for lifetime coverage of the entire US lakes and rivers and intercoastal waterways. I end up using my Iphone for navigation now because of navionics mistakes.
But since the removal of the hotmaps gold region cards for $99 and the introduction of the $99 USA per state cards its a major rip off and a major inconvenience to some humminbird owners. This wasnt even made public to the dealers of the chards till almost 1.5 years after their release as everyone told me that I got the entire country for $99 but Im glad I held off as that was completely wrong.
Under the old compatibility charts the humminbird 768 I thought would only support hotmaps gold and not premium or platinum and since I havent found out whether the unit could run the upper level cards that are 150 and 200 respectively and I fish in multiple states it meant a mapset for my unit would run around 4-500 which for that cash I could have gotten the 797 and a platinum chart set.
Now if going by how the IOS app gets its maps it would be hard to near impossible to supply request with maps for navionics because of their distribution system is based on selling a preauthorized card and then filling it once the card is authenicated with navionics webstore. The older card this could have been possible as a section was stored permanently on the card but that doesnt seem to be the case nowadays.
