I will give an example.
Spoiler: See my original backup of a Navigon 70 plus GPS with 23 countries:
As you can see, I have 23 countries (MAP files) plus 6 NFS files.
When I upgrade, I have to upgrade 23 MAP files plus 6 NFS files.
This is very simple, if you do not realize what I said, I can not help you.
Just an example of my Navigon 70 Plus, on your Navigon / Garmin PID, the amount of files is certainly different.

It's fine I figured it out. I updated United Kingdom.map and it wouldn't work. Updated all the NFS files and it now works just fine. Didn't bother with all the other countries, but it seems you do need all the NFS files if you update a map.
