From their website (Applies to Android and iPhone apps):
GOODBYE
EVERYONE!
NAVIGON BIDS FAREWELL.
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TIME!
For strategic reasons, however, Garmin has decided to take all navigation apps – with a few exceptions – off the market as of May 14th, 2018.

it's a big shame.their navigon android app was the best app of it's kind on google play, i liked so much that i bought it 6 months ago & the customer support was excellent & genuine. i have a dedicated navigon gps device but i much prefer to use the phone the display had more nicer layout with much more detailed info about your journey. what a big shame now i have to settle for lower quality apps like sygic with maps that haven't been updated for 5+ years
well... for Seat/VW/Skoda PID owners, it's not a good news. not only buy new navi, but a new car![]()
"The dragon died, the dragon survives!"
Garmin buried Navigon and opened hands to enthusiasts. I think there will be no quality analogues for travelers for a few more years. Perhaps someone will decide to be a flagship and complete a setup (apk,...) with the latest map set for downloading to Android phones and tablets? So far, you do not need to buy a new car![]()

But, Navigon/Garmin PID is Windows CE harware/firmware, not Android. Also, it's intergrated with car computer as vehicle assistant, media player and phone hands-free... So, it's not so easy as you think![]()
From their website:
What exactly does that mean?
Which apps are affected?
All Garmin turn-by-turn apps are affected, including NAVIGON, NAVIGON Regions, NAVIGON Cruiser and as of June 1, 2018 also NAVIGON select Telekom Edition.
The only exceptions are Garmin HUD EU/NA: Garmin HUD Plus or BMW HUS customers can continue to download the Garmin HUD Apps for free and to upgrade it.

^^
unhappily, Garmin PID is not Garmin HUD... so, what's more important:
"Will I still get map updates?
If you've purchased FreshMaps or use a subscription based NAVIGON app, you will continue to receive map updates until your subscription period ends.
Please note that FreshMaps will no longer be on sale as of May 14th (June 1st for NAVIGON select)."
so, at most two years of maps updates. and as such, is would be not that bad...
