This is the procedure that I went through and everything is OK.
I used # 3

First install version - NAVIGON.v.5.5.0.b.108055001.apk
Start Navigation and download data approx. 650 MB
From the "computer" add maps to folder - Map
From the "computer" add poi to folder - Poi
File - Terrain_EU.nfs - copy to folder - Data
Run Navigon.
Uninstall the Navigon
Install version - NAVIGON_Europe_v5.5.0_FreshMaps_InApps.apk
Run Navigon.
Settings - Navigation - Map view – and choose Panorama View 3D
When the associated internet in navigation tap - Shop - and all packages should be selected.

I did it your way, after uninstalling previous version.
When running after install inapps, i had to put the nfs, map and poi files back.
Then i updatet the maps downloading another 511 Mb.
It works fine
