Default Help with Mio 5400 LM recovery

Hi, I've got a "bricked" Mio 5400 LM from a friend of mine. I do no know what he did with it but it is stuck in the Mio splash screen. He has no backup of device.
When connected to PC both internal disk and SD are visible but MioMore Desktop cannot connect to device.

The internal disk content seems to be broken to me, it contains just these folders:

    31303030303030303030363465613561
    'My Documents'
    Navman
    'Program Files'
    'System Volume Information'

    And the files:

    app_startup.txt
    cfpins.xml
    DesktopLauncher.exe
    device.sig
    device.xml
    INSTALL.INI
    MIO.ICO
    PATHS.XML
    Source.txt
    touch.ini
    UPGRADE.HTM

Only Navman contains 216MB of data, other folders are empty or just with some subfolders, no files.

Any advice, please, how to recover it to any functional state?

    Thank you.

Well, it works but the Navman itself is not usable as it shows that the product key is invalid and the product key should be restored by MioMore Desktop. In turn MioMore can connect but it wants to type the key on device so no chance to go further...
This is the same with both Original and Unlock Backup.

What is also interesting is that in both cases device.xml file is changed to:

    <device> <kernel><version>1506301905</version></kernel><bootloader><version>47</version><checksum>0</checksum></bootloader><hardware><type>￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿N502</type><displayname>￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿￿N502</displayname><version>788</version><id>31303030303030303030363465613561</id><base>Jangmi</base></hardware><application><firstuse /></application><sku><projectcode>N502</projectcode><skuid>0</skuid></sku><region><lcid>1033</lcid><version>1</version></region><processor><type>ARM</type><level>ARM version 4</level><revision>00000003</revision></processor><os><version>00050000</version></os><memory><size>0x7000000</size></memory><storage><size>0xf0000000</size></storage></device>

Any advice how to unlock/fix Navman?

In response to your help question, the original backup was for testing purposes only.

...but it wants to type the key on device so no chance to go further...
The latest generation of GPS Mio is encoded between the device and the software.

Any advice how to unlock/fix Navman?
If you do not have a copy of this device, as far as I know, there is no way to restore GPS to its normal state.

If you want the GPS Mio 5400LM to work, use the unlock I left in post 2, you can change the interface buttons, among other things.
You can try some navigation software available here in the forum and always have the most current maps, such as radars and other services.
