Great, I will try that.
In the meanwhile, I am trying to lay my hands on the MMIv9.
Ok, there's a way to get the wince version to work. If you still have mapmyindia Android version on your phone, you can change the device from imei to sdcard, for eg in newer versions change line to m_strDrvDevice=sdcard in settings.ini in the Android folder. Then start the program, the lic will be generated for the sdcard. Then transfer the maps to wince and it will work, change device in the wince settings.ini too(use Driver=Default\sdcard.dll). Use the wince program distributed by wayteq, not mmi, as they have a different licensing algorithm. The wayteq wince algo is the same as the sygic android one.
If you have bought an Android product code for India, you can do the same with the newer maps and then transfer it to wince.

Hi
New to this forum, need a help with my Map My India Vx 140 device.
Downloaded the Maps v8 and did as needful, but the problem is when I click on navigation on the GPS , nothing happens.. where does one define the navigation default file to be loaded on the Vx 140.
Any help is appreciated. This problem was also with the earlier map too.
Thanks
Ravi
Thanks for your reply, but Vx140 does not have the navi path settings in about.
Can we do this settings attaching it to windows and via windows mobile device center.
The easiest way would be to connect it in normal usb storage mode and recreating the original folder structure, no need to change navi path. As shown in the file I linked earlier, the root folder in your device flash storage should be Mapmyindia and the exe directly inside it (not in other folders inside Mapmyindia) should be Mapmyindia_Navigator.exe
I have tried all this, but I dont have the original file structure. The flash memory is only 336 Kb and the exe file of mapmyindia_navigator.exe is over 3.5 Mb, I dont know how to create the shortcut in the flash memory so it loads the exe file from the SD card. All the files are in the root of SD card.. also tried moving them to different folders but dint work.
Ok, in the file linked earlier you can see that vx140 is different and it runs directly from sdcard not flash memory. So again, all that is required is the same folder structure as I explained before in the sdcard instead of internal storage. Instead of mmibe or whatever the folder is named, the structure should be sdcard-Mapmyindia-Mapmyindia_Navigator.exe
Have you tried this?
If that doesn't work you'll need to get hold of another vx140 and see the exact structure in the sdcard and replicate the same in your device. Replicate structure means replicate folder hierarchy and exe file name, not copy the original files.
Yes, I have tried the sdcard-mapmyindia-maymyindia_navigator.exe location. Does the name of sdcard make a difference..
I guess will have to hunt around for a same 140 Gps unit to compare.
Thanks a lot for your help though, appreciate it.
