Default Kenwood Customer Support is useless!

Sent a question to Kenwood USA about updating maps on one of their car GPS systems. The CSR replied to go to
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
for assistance! What a bonehead! I guess he didn't think or care that I found the support link on the same site? Anyway, pointless to ask Kenwood for help. If they answer they will tell you to contact Garmin who in turn tells you to contact Kenwood.

I can not update maps on a DNX5350BT I purchased. I've updated the firmware and BT software. The device will not read or initialize the micro SD card that came with the unit. I've tried several other cards and flash drives. The update procedure will not recognize any storage devices. Garmin will not update any devices unless they are initialized by a registered device. That is to protect them and copyrights.

I purchase a Kenwood (solely) on the fact they advertise and use Garmin maps. My last in-dash unit was decent, but 2 years later, no new maps or updates. I shouldn't have to hack, ***** or root my device to use some third party maps. IF a unit says it comes with free updates, you should't have to jump through flaming technical procedures and tricks just to get the maps you purchased.
