If the poi's are on the poi file that you put on the content/poi folder, then, there is no way to edit those pois, as those are the pois that are released together with the maps and are in proprietary user non-editable format. The only way is to get the latest poi files from content provider (Navteq, TeleAtlas/Tomtom, or other local providers).

However, you can put your own user poi's in the content/userdata/poi folder in standard KML format.
