    Default iGO Nextgen 64bit – Blue GPS Dot / Marker Removal

    Hi,

    The old "erase_gps-marker.zip" UX plugin, originally designed for iGO Luna, does not work, as expected, with iGO Nextgen (Pongo skin). Modifying "preload.css", "preload.ui", or using "show_gpspos=0" in sys.txt does not remove the blue GPS position dot.

    A working solution has been found:
    In "save/profiles/01/mapstates.ini", change all occurrences of:
    "showgpspos="1""

    to:
    "showgpspos="0""
    This successfully removes the blue GPS dot while keeping the navigation car cursor visible. The setting also survives restarting iGO.

    What is still needed:
    A new UX plugin that automatically forces "showgpspos=0" at startup, including when the save folder is corrupted, reset, or recreated.

    The challenge is identifying the internal Nextgen function controlling this map state, rather than simply hiding the GPS marker graphically.
    Does anyone know how to implement this in a Nextgen UX plugin?

    😳🤔 I think you are referring to the somewhat cumbersome method of using a SYS entry, which is supported in all 64-bit versions, regardless of the mod skin:
    [Interface]
    show_detailed_posinfo=1 ; 1=enable, 0=disable

    Hi,

    Thank you.

    Just tried it, but its not working, i wish it did.
    Igo world, 64 bit, samsung s24, android 16.

    And i would give a leg ( 😉 ) for a World working weather ux. World 64, is the only samsung s24 apk that works, besides Luna 64 but it has a non working tmc.(which i would prefer using). All in all i m using igo since 2004! and it feels like a family member 😀

    There was never any Weather in World 64-bit, because APK doesn't support it.

    @vuurvlinder

    Then use Avic 64bit. Weather works with the familiar trick. I have installed it to a friend's S24 Ultra.

    All four 64-bit versions of iGO run on my S21 Ultra — I’m using a skin by wal24, though I’ve tested others as well.
    Which version supports weather data has already been discussed here plenty of times.

    personally, I don’t need that feature within a navigation app; there are countless dedicated weather apps available, which often provide varying forecasts anyway... 😏
