    fsp file contains the historical traffic related to the hour and day of the week.
    Based on those files, for the same route, the SW might calculate different routes according with the hour and the day when you are routing.

    I wonder how they collected this data for a particular area. There is a skin setting about Historial data, is this similar to fsp data but collected locally for the route taken/recorded by GPS unit?

    So, to be more detailed....
    Each device equipped with Original SW from Primo, or Becker, has the option to register some traffic details.
    During the connection of device with Naviextras Servers, or Becker Servers, those info's are submitted to them.
    Based on those info's they could generate also the fsp files.
    An other option is to scan them self with their equipment the traffic 24hours/day during one week.
