trying to get this dedent skin working for android need alittle help.

Finally got to have a little play with this... Changed ui_igo9 to ui_android, changed 800_480 to 1024_768 and added my phone resolution to the ini file.
Programme opens and many bits of skin work.
Next experiment is to try forcing it to use 800_480 as discussed in iGO Tutorials/iGO primo resolution settings.
I will report back on results

if your working from the link i posted i’m going to repost the current two i’m working on that have the full code and working better. one is the latest release of decent and it working pretty good with glitches and out of memory errors when certain things are done and the other is a modded version that stripped some things out and used different colors.

Which ini file?

How did you open the ini file and added the phone resolution?

"info.ini" file in skin zip, contains definitions of supported resolutions

Its the same way as you edit lang or voice file

I use Notepad from within Total Commander. That way it doesn't break the zip

I'm working from a copy of Decent v6.5.1 I use on my WinCE device. If you can, please post your current working versions.

ok the file Decent V1.2 is a modded decent 6.5 skin from wince. a few things where added and a few things left out. colors where changed for the better. this one runs the best but allot of the features arent showing on screen like the little icon where u change from 2d to 3d. but it runs ok otherwise.

the second version is the full decent skin version without the ux folder and igo9 folders. that came with that skin(you will need to take them from the skin and change the file name and resolution). this one will not load without a save file from a working boot up. for some reason when you try and load it with no save folder it goes to language and nothing shows up on screen to get passed that. with a save folder it boots up find and shows all the features but some of the scalling is off on some functions. i noticed three big graghic problems and a few small once.im trying to track them down. it will run niclely but when i think i turn on take an alternative route or hit the one graghic that messed up in the middle it gives out of memory errors. i really believe this one is close to running good once these few bugs are identified.

both files were from a wince version that ran fine on a 1024_600 screen. it was not forced to run in 800 by 400 to my knowledge as im the once that got them working on that resolution with the help from member arslankayna.

my current system is android pie on a px6 radio with resolution 1024_600. and that what i been doing all my testing on. im going to keep trying things to try and improve things. i believe most of the errors can be fixed in the templates and navigatemap ui but i could be wrong.

thanks to a member here and some tips i have made some improvements to my current decent 1.2. its working quite well and need to do some more graghic fixes. will post my progress file in a few days.

Below is my latest version of decent wince to android skin. the latest version is stable and runs great with more improvements to be made. if anyone can help out on the following issues please let me know.

1. info bar one of the main features works vertically with a slight graghic clip in the three buttons. i was able to get it down in the right corner thanks to a members help.

2. horizontal opening of infobar does not work at all and i belive that why the other information at the top of the screen related to info bar doesnt show either but i could be wrong. i think the info to getting this to work is in the file navigatemap.ui or customized.lua. anyone know??

3. on the more tab below route options it is suppose to show things like calculator and other information you can click on currently its a blank screen and i have not investigated this yet.

4. if you click your finger on the map you can zoom in on the map and scroll. this works but the right side buttons need to be moved to the right not a big deal to fix if i knew where to look for this information as i dont know what its called.

5. when you put in a route it gives you an overview of that map from point a to point b. this goes to that but that map is zoomed way out so it doesnt show the overview route like it should and also the right green info needs to be moved to the right but idk what that called or where to look.

i attached pictures to what all the problems look like and a picture on my old wince of how the decent app infobar is supose to look. by the way i am now working off a (800 by 400)SKIN on my 1024 by 600 screen
