Thread: iGO NextGen v9.35.2.252374_(24.Feb.2021) (WORLD)(armv8a/aarch64)

On my non-rooted Android 11 phone it's not possible to write to /<internal storage>/Android/data with regular file explorers or adb.
While there are workarounds, I decided to see if I could modify the apk to use "regular" internal storage.

So here we go:

• support for custom sys.txt
• support for regular internal phone storage (/sdcard or /storage/emulated/0) storage
• no longer requires workarounds to write to /<internal storage>/Android/data/com.nng.igo.primong.igoworld

To install:

• if you already have iGO NextGen v9.35.2.252374 installed: move directory /<internal storage>/Android/data/com.nng.igo.primong.igoworld/files to /<internal storage>/iGO_World, then de-install app
• if you start fresh: create /<internal storage>/iGO_World with all files from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] that used to go in /<internal storage>/Android/data/com.nng.igo.primong.igoworld
• add extra maps, poi's, licenses etc.
• download and unzip attached file (password protected)
• add extracted sys.txt to /<internal storage>/iGO_World (mandatory) and customize (optional, e.g. change fullscreen to 0 to see status bar)
• add additional licenses (note: on an encrypted Android 11 device, installation failed when additional licenses were added before install - not sure why/logcat can't be read)
• install apk via adb or file manager

Since I am a newbie in these matters, there are a few things I have not (yet) achieved to do:

• allow for dynamic (change of) location in an easy way (initial location needs to be "iGO_World", need to modify apk to change location)
• test external sd cards (I don't have a 64-bit phone/tablet with external card to test with)
• enable/test secondary root (so you can share content etc. between versions)
• eliminate warning about failed play store verification (does not happen when installed via "adb install")

Everything seemed to work fine except online traffic, but that was also not working in my original installation (likely missing license).
EDIT: does not seem to be the license - at least 8 countries, including mine, show as active. It briefly connects and then becomes inactive.. If anyone has the solution, I am happy to include it in the default sys.txt.
EDIT2: Additional fix for some Android 11 devices with enhanced security + removed "dpi 480" in custom sys.txt. Sorry for the inconvenience.
