    Why don't you see if using Google voice is any faster. Just renamed the tts_nua_ve1 directory so proggy doesn't use it and make sure your TTS voice is valid for Google.

    Update: I've just verified that proggy works fine with android built-in Google voice; here is my English TTS voice config

    Update2: Also verified that Google voice works with NextGen9.18.27.693527-World(14Mar2017) and NextGen9.18.27.689739-Basarsoft(10Feb2017) as well!

    Update3: All three proggies also works with VocalizerEx
