My MicroSD method has always been the same from the beginning, I do not know the method of modemakias.

For this model installation can use any of three posted...
better use from #1 "original" and enable in your sys:

has_secondary_root=1
android_secondary_root_path="/storage/extSdCard/addons"

"addons" is folder that contain: content/ (all big files) dem, map. ... etc..
also can you change the name: see the screenshot from mine... i have "SharedMaps" instead "addons"

Really i don't know... some information is lost from site to site and discussion to discussion...i have try many proposed "solutions"
but after that... i have not search it more...
i can send you the file "config" to you see or compare... if you sure, that's is @djeman.... then i'm very happy for use this solution from mr @djeman...

now about the apk:
always i use specific name for base folder.... why ?? (see the img1)
i use the "original" package name "com.nng.igo.primong.igo world" thats help for for next update "install, over previous" without doublicate folder...

about the installation i wrote in my post:

For installation on MM - NUG put the base folder in the root of extSD......
In this case don't forget to add in your sys...... in the "llinked_root_list" path...... your extSD

For installation on KK or LP install the apk first... restart your device and put the base folder in the path:
extSD Android/data/com.nng.igo.primong.igoworld/files/........

here can see my sys:

Personally the code I've seen in your apk, this is definitely the part where i set the encoding you use the same also location for nextgen, because it's not the same place for iGO Before Nextgen.
