Hi - sorry to necro an 8 month old thread...
The company I work for has asked me to test an XGODY Sat Nav for them - I think it's the 704 (It's at work, so I can't get the exact model number right now). EDIT - It's the X4
Basically, they want it to scream at the driver if he is approaching a width, height, weight restriction, etc... based on the vehicle dimensions.
To start with I was getting sweet Fanny Adams, and despite entering vehicle dimensions that would set off any bridge alert (5.00m) and having several height restricted bridges to use for testing, the only thing it would warn about was speed cameras! - I had been through all the settings.
Then I stumbled across this thread.
I have made a backup of the existing files.
I have downloaded the files linked to above, and placed them where they needed to be on the SN - deleting the contents of any specific folder first.
Due to space restrictions, I limited the maps to Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Following all the instructions, and double-checking all the alert and vehicle dimension settings, I took it for a test.
Firstly, it correctly routed around the low bridges, despite them being a much more direct route - yay.
When ignoring the directions, it kept re-routing. Once on a collision course, it kept telling me to turn around - yay - but didn't say why - boo.
Only AFTER I had passed under the bridge did it flag up a warning stating that there was a restriction that conflicted with the set vehicle's dimensions.
How can I get that warning BEFORE it passes the restriction?
