To hide only the icon of a given category you need to edit speedwarn.bmp
The txt file names do not matter, the thing that associates them with a category is the number of TYPE that is inside, which in your case is also written in the name.
To understand better, look here too:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
To put it briefly the category numbers in the sys are the numbers to which the icons are associated.
In your sys there are two different series of categories, the first concerns the iGO Primo, and the one below is the series that is found in Nextgen with 32 categories.
To change the series of "official" SpeedCams with the ones you have, there are different ways, not knowing what was used you should keep everything as is.
How do you act when updating txt files? I don't know how iGO Primo works, maybe you should also delete the spud file? Make an update without putting file GR-09_SchoolZone.txt.I tried to remove GR-09_SchoolZone.txt and speedcam.spdb but the app was crashing.
I think that not totally erasing the icons but making them much smaller is the best solution. It is true that you have the sound alert, but you don't have the possibility to see the exact position ....... apart from the traffic lights......I decided to just resize the icon dramatically so it's not completely hidden.

You're confusing seeing the icons on the map with the visual/audio activation/deactivation of the alerts. Try it yourself and see.
Already clarified in post #7. Read OP request carefully
"Is it possible to hide a specific speedcam category from the map without losing the notification?"

The records in sys do not seem to work, following the logic should work because it is disabling the visualization and activating the sound but unfortunately do not work...The best option was the one you gave the post 5....Thanks for the correction
Like I said, you're thinking of notification. It will work if you want to control the audio or visual notification of the alerts. It's not for controlling the display of alert icons on the map. The sys.txt settings you posted reflect the settings inside proggy under Settings->Warning->Alert Points->Alert Types->Select Alert Types->"Warning Type" But Gift (and maybe other versions), doesn't provide the option to control visual (hence your modification of it in sys.txt); but I added it to my Gift mod.
See the difference between notification (blue) and icon (red)
Spoiler: .
