Which "igo 9"? Each software has its precisely defined label (version). And what device precisely? Any owner manual?
However, here is not a problem to the software itself, but to your device (based on your original statement). I guess (my personal opinion) somehow the radio takes the sound channel, and does not allow another source.

Like I said, I have searched and searched but my head started spinning.
I did not find an answer, that is why I asked for help here.
Not to worry, I will just have to turn the radio off so I can have voice instructions on navigation,
and when navigation is not required, turn the radio on so I have music.
