I just got the Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX and when I did the free update the North America update was 2017Q2 not 2017Q3. So what I gather this 2017Q3 will not work on my unit

The contents are valid, but your update of 2017Q2 will not have 2017Q3 license needed because you're not using fully cracked proggy.
