Please excuse dragging up an old post. As people may still have the question, I thought I'd answer it anyway.

You can use the application called POIbase (which is free) to import your own POI's to iGo, they have to be in gpx, kml or csv format.

You will find the option in the POIbase software under Load POI's and Speed Cams > My Private POI's > Import my POI's and then click on Add POI Category. Only use the option to share the poi's if you have the rights to do so (may seem obvious but you never know ) You will also need an icon in the size given so your poi can be displayed on the map.
