Nice to know you solved problem, it would be even better to share information about exact version of exe you used, and even better to post it as you did with original, so others could use your "trick".

Ok you are right
Device: Alpine ine-w960 (same system as w940 and w990bt)
Procedure success:
1.- Power off device and extract sd card and make a simple backup of sd card for caution.
2.- Download Software 9.6.32 from post of Giuseppe [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
3.- Uncompress the zip and ONLY copy and replace the original files AlpineNavi.exe and Data.zip of SD Card with the files of the Giuseppe zip post.
4.- Put or Add the new maps if you want
5.- Put the Sd card to the device, power on and enjoy
