iGO: which map is better in your country?

In Brazil better map is... Free map! In a continental country there are no better map. Each region have a good map.

In Spain, this is always a big debate! Based on my experience with my VW Golf and Peugeot RT4, here is my take:

HERE Maps (formerly Navteq): These are my top choice for iGO Primo. In Spain, HERE usually has better coverage for attributes like truck navigation, speed limits, and precise house numbers in newer urban developments. The 'FSP' (smart routing) and 'HNR' files seem to work more accurately with HERE data here.

TomTom Maps (formerly TeleAtlas): These are also very good, especially for rural areas and mountain roads in northern Spain. Some users prefer their routing algorithms for long-distance highway travel, but I find their POI database slightly less updated than HERE's in my specific region.

My setup: I personally use HERE 2024 Q2/Q4 maps. They integrate perfectly with iGO Primo on WinCE 6.0, and the 'DA' (Driver Alerts) files for Spain are very reliable regarding curves and school zones.

Everyone has their own experiences and resulting preferences. Maps from proprietary navigation software are less identical to those from HERE/TomTom for iGO, which in turn behave differently when planning routes with the old CE-Primo (complete EU map file) compared to iGO-Nextgen.

I prefer using Nextgen and have both providers in my map folder for Germany. This way, I can compare my route with both providers beforehand. It's sometimes puzzling how differently routes are structured and which streets and house numbers are (or aren't) included � even for the same quarter... Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves � in my opinion.

While here is stressing over the epic battle between HERE vs. TomTom, I�m just sitting here with total peace of mind! 😂
Why? Because for my region in the Middle East, there are currently zero map uploads available! 🤷*♂️💔
Anyone else enjoying this forced relaxation, or am I the only one🙋*♂️
