iGO: which map is better in your country?

For iGO primo - wince on a Car GPS (chinese) I prefer HERE maps; I think they are easy to obtain updated and with good level of detail. For mobile devices running android is a complete different story.

The Tom Tom Mapas give you better and more clever routes to your destination.

In opposition HERE mapas give you crazy routes.

Here mapas have road signs, and can show you the road signs if you program your device to do that. Tom Tom, even with this feature activated, does not show you the road signs!

If you can afford to have two devices, and put Tom Tom mapas in one, and HERE maps in another, you will always have two alternative paths to your destination.

Both have streets in their content, an can give you a path to your destination (Here more crazy, but you will eventually get to your destination).

I personally prefer TT. In my hometown in Serbia, HERE maps have too many mistakes, streets that don't exist and have never existed etc. So based on that I prefer TT maps which are exact. Also, I see that TT .fbl map files are 30%-50% larger in average, and .ftr files are up to 10x larger, so I wonder if that means they contain that much more data.

In my experience TomTom has better routes and more accurate street "placements" and junctions in HERE seems there are more streets names that in TomTom have no name at all but due to overall inaccuracies in cartography that leads to weird errors and inaccurate indications, I vote TomTom.

I use TomTom maps in BiH, Croatia and Slovenia
they are always precise about the destination

With HERE - Navteq maps Sygic Truck shows 3d buildings in whole country (ex-YU) while Tomtom TeleAtlas maps only in few towns. But... HERE not showing ten months old traffic circle roundabout near my neighborhood in latest map update of 12th month of this year (big main region town) while I can see correct data in TomTom even from maps of 2022.06.
So I prefer Tom

New greece map from navteg ('22) is very bad with many roads with wrong directions ,example the street fragoglisias in Marousi town it change direction 2 years now but navteg is the same like 3 years old.The same in Alimos,ano kifisia,Melisia, and others.Tomtom for Athens is much,much better.The poi from both maps is a joke
