If your job (trucker) depends on navigation, then use some device with online access. Use either free (GMaps) or pay for some dedicated software (CoPilot, Sygic...).
What the title says. Need an affordable GPS solution that has the option for truck-specific avoidances (parkways for example). More importantly it should be something compatible with freely-attainable maps (updated ones, USA). Those Chinese no-brand GPS units on eBay are fairly affordable and come with iGo Primo, but they have issues with unsufficient memory and error popups. Any ideas?
I saw this on eBay:

RoadMates (even big ones like that) can sometimes be had for good prices since their map update features don't work. I have a different roadmate and am using it with iGo. Was wondering if that particular unit was compatible (I do see an SD card slot). Then I can get a microSD and load it with iGo and northeast maps. I believe iGo has truck options.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - seems like a better deal and not too small.I'll have to ask him if it has a microSD slot, though. It does. Saw it on images of a different unit with same model #.

Have that already as backup, but since it drains data, I was looking for something to replace the old Dezl when it finally breaks. I heard Magellan units used WinCE so should be compatible with iGo. I was just wondering if that was still the best way to go in terms of saving $.

Something that seems to be left off of trucking nav systems - US 129 from US 411 to the NC state line is NOT FOR TRUCKS! It has warning signs and turn-arounds, but people still try to run 18 wheelers over it. You WILL be ticketed as you will be in both ditches at the same time.
