I suppose if the purpose is to help 'a user who wants to buy a new model' we should only talk about units currently offered at conventional retail level. I've got a heap of units [literally a heap, Caty's seen the photo] and only one of the 34 devices is a current model. That's an NA purchased 3597LMTHD which i like enormously ..... But ... as usual, 'Garmin giveth and Garmin taketh away.' There are advantages over its predecessor the 3590, but there are also disadvantages.

I love the magnetic mount and real voice/TTS3 ['turn right at the Subway'/'Turn left at the traffic lights'/'Turn right after the Aldi'] and the display of the current road name. Being able to choose a primary locale [UK, Luxemburg etc] on reset and then in Diagostics Page to keep enabled the regional overspeed 'ding ding' by selecting US or AU etc is a big plus.

I don't like that they've taken away the function to fix an incorrect speed limit on a map. The loss of ability to customise dashboards is a pain too.

The above is not meant to be comprehensive, just the things that please and irk me personally. Overall it's a very good unit though.

One unit i'd like to get my hands on is a 2797. It can easily be converted to dezl760 or RV760 and maybe can then also use the BC20 reversing camera [Garmin claims the 2797 isn't compatible with the BC20, by omission anyway. Maybe it's disabled in firmware or maybe in hardware. But i think it's probably a crock they're peddling and it will in fact work as it is. Anyone tried a BC20 with 2797?
