    Default mapfilenames for zumo 550

    Hi.

    although nobody, except myself in my mind, asked this matter here, I like to share the result of the digging, because this Great Forum gave me all the fragments I needed, and since I had quite a job to gather all the info about mapfilenames for zumo 550, my ancient gps-compass with wildly winding needle...
    I humbly hope this gives help for some other lonely rider with multiple maps...

    ZUMO 550 inventory:

    SD:
    Suppmap = gmapsupp.img

    ZUMO device:
    Suppmap1 = gmapsupp.img
    Suppmap = gmapsup2.img
    PROM = gmapprom.img
    Dir DB = gmapoem.img (not selectable...)

    bye, f

    On the Zumo 660 the file gmapsup2.img doesn't work.

    Since I don't need my Garmin US map I tried a few more things to load 2 separate maps. With the OSM map as gmapsupp.img I want to load Malsingmaps as secondary.

    Malsing as gmapprom.img allowed me to select it, but then it wouldn't allow me to de-select it. No good, since the two overlap. On the display Malsing blocked out OSM in the border area.

    Next, I tried Malsing as gmapoem. Similar, except there is no checkbox next to Malsing and OSM could not be de-selected any more, either.

    I will need to fall back to the Mapsource method.

    Regards,
    Peter.

    On Zumo 660 only gmapsup1.img is available in addition on new SW what support 2 map on SD. No gmapsup2.img is on Garmin device!
    Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

    I believe Caty's post #1 is still correct and I didn't think gmapsup1.img was made available on sd card by any recent fw, and so still only gmasupp.img in sd Garmin folder for zumos including 660.

    @Beddhist
    Easy way to check what map name/paths are available, look at your Inventory page and compare to what's posted by fiat_lux for his 550 in the post above yours to get the correct map naming conventions. If gmapsup2.img doesn't work, try gmapprom1.img.
